So you want to build a truss bridge but you don't know where to start? Don't worry, if you get your hands on top notch wooden bridge truss plans, everything else will follow. But first, you need to understand a little bit of the physics that works behind the success of this kind of bridge.
Truss are those series of triangular structure that's formed and joined on both sides of the bridge to take the compression load. Truss bridges are one of the most cost effective type o bridge due to the fact that it has efficient use of materials.
So if you are planning to build a truss bridge in your own property, perhaps, here are several things you need to consider first to make the construction go as smoothly as possible:
Budget
Since you're going to be using wood for the project, it wouldn't nearly cost as much as using steel. However, you still need to have a clear budget in terms of material cost as well as labor if you have plans of hiring help for this specific project. This way, you will be able to choose your materials well.
Also, a good deal of the budget depends of the length of the bridge that you are going to build. It would be wise if you have a clear idea on the expanse as well as the length of your bridge.
Type of Truss

To successfully finish the project, I strongly suggest that you get the help of quality wooden bridge truss plans. Not only will you be able to finish the bridge speedily, you can also be assured that it is safe to use and can take the maximum load.
Also, when you are choosing which plans to use for this purpose, I suggest you go for plans with very good working diagrams. This way, you avoid unnecessary glitches during construction. On top of that, be sure that the instructions are not vague and easy to implement.
